How to Use Your Matrix Habit Tracker

Get set up within seconds, and start tracking

First-Time Setup

When you plug in your Matrix Habit Tracker for the first time, it will enter Setup Mode so you can set the current date and time.

  • Press the device’s feet to go up and down through the values.
  • Press the Mode button to confirm each setting and move to the next.

You’ll move through the following setup steps in order:

1. Year       (Y: 2025)
2. Month  (M: 12)
3. Day        (D: 21)
4. Hour      (Hr: 16)
5. Minute  (Min: 46)

After setting the time, your tracker will automatically switch to Clock Mode, and you're ready to begin using your Matrix Habit Tracker to build better habits.

Use the Feet Buttons to Adjust Your Settings

  • Set the date and time by pressing the left and right feet buttons.
  • Press the top of the device to activate the feet as required.

Brightness Slider: Set Your Ideal Glow

  • Slide to adjust the brightness of the LED matrix.
  • Keep it dim for low light environments or crank it up for visibility in bright rooms.

Reset Button: Start Fresh When Needed

  • Hold the Reset button for 3 seconds to reset the count in the current mode.
  • Great for starting a new habit or wiping the board clean.
  • In Clock Mode: Hold the Reset button to enter Time & Date Set Mode. Use the Mode button to adjust date, hours, and minutes. 

Usage

The Matrix Habit Tracker is designed to help you build strong, consistent habits—without the distractions of screens or apps. Below is a quick-start guide to using your device.

Mode Button: Switch Between Tracking Modes

Tap the Mode button to cycle through the 4 core modes:

Tally Mode

  • Count up infinitely by tapping the tracker.
  • Each tap adds a dot and a number—perfect for reps, pages read, tasks completed, or anything ongoing.
  • Use this mode for quick motivation and real-time feedback.

24-Hour Mode

  • Track one habit per day.
  • Each day, the LED automatically moves forward one position.
  • Tap the tracker once daily to mark your streak.
  • LEDs do not move backward — encouraging daily consistency.

Week Mode

  • Track up to 8 habits, each in a separate column.
  • Tap to log progress in each column anytime during the week.
  • The tracker progresses horizontally every 7 days, showing weekly patterns.

Clock Mode

  • Displays the current time in 12 or 24 hour formats.
  • A subtle way to stay mindful of your routine without checking your phone.

Tips for Best Use

Place your tracker somewhere visible—like your desk, bedside table, or kitchen counter.

Use it at the same time each day to create a ritual.

Combine it with an existing habit (like brushing teeth or making coffee) to build stronger routines.

Don’t aim for perfection — aim for progress.
